We call this next step a paid beta because we want to iterate on our subscription model(s) with you all. That is why we are launching both Tana Free and Tana Core.

Tana Free aims to be the world’s most powerful notetaking tool for individuals. For free, you get the fluid and flexible Tana editor, the connectivity of the Tana graph, the virality of Tana Publish, and the power of supertags and live searches.

Tana Core has AI out of the box, and features like Commands, Events, Google Calendar integration, and Tana Publish with password protection. It’s the first version of our vision of the operating system for your knowledge, a new breed of OS built for human-AI collaboration that collects, connects, and structures your data at superhuman speed.

It’s built for voice as input, with live transcription, audio and video transcription, and audio-enabled fields included. It comes with our first agent out of the box, the meeting agent. Core will have our first integration with Readwise and our Input API available, with more coming.

When we started our journey, we believed AI and the knowledge graph were essential to build the bicycle for our minds. So, we decided to be LLM agnostic from the get-go. That’s why AI in Tana isn’t a bolt-on solution. It’s seamlessly integrated from when we started. So, instead of being powered by AI, Tana powers AI by giving content meaning through Supertags and the graph. Tana gives AI better building blocks that we believe will fundamentally change how we can work. We have multiple integrated models to provide you with the best results for different tasks. We will take the job of testing, integrating and tuning new models so you only have to worry about your content.

Hitting space will start a chat with the notes you’re on, so you can ask Tana to pull out key insights, todos, and tasks, ask for summaries, or discuss with your notes.

We also have our own integrated ChatGPT. You can use it for everything you usually use ChatGPT for but with all of the powerful Tana features included. You can inline reference your own data, tag information directly in the chat, change views, and stay in context.

The Bring Your Own Key will be dedicated to Ask AI only; those who bring their own key can still use it without compromising any of our features from other models.

Tana Core will cost $14 a month, paid annually, and $18 a month, paid monthly. The plan includes a generous amount of AI, enough for 1500 minutes of live voice transcriptions or more than 500 blogposts. Why? We’re on a mission to reinvent how humans, teams, and computers work together. And we truly believe AI will be an integral part of this as we move towards a true operating system for knowledge.

We want to give all community members and early users your own price as a thank-you for helping us on our journey to reinvent how humans, teams, and computers work together,  so we developed what we call a Pioneer price.

The Pioneer price will be $10/$12, and you’ll keep it until you stop subscribing. You will all get five invites with the Pioneer price included, so you can invite friends, partners, and whomever you think will get a better life using Tana.

The Pioneer price is only valid until the end of June, so please remember to sign up if you want it.

Mid-June, we will open up for all users to join via our webpage, and every user who wants Tana Core must pay the regular subscription.

This is not our big launch; we aim for that later this year. The paid beta for individuals is our next step in growing up.
