Preface

Time Worn is a novel in progress.

Written by R.J. Nestor, and inspired by West Virginia folklore and ghost stories, it follows 15-year-old Gus Marsh’s mission to discover how his dad died. Time Worn adventures through life and death, through space and time.

As a “novel in progress,” Time Worn will be written and edited in public. For example, the Chapter Two you read today may not change much by tomorrow, but it is likely to be tightened and corrected for continuity over time.

I (R.J.) am writing and publishing this in Tana for two reasons:

1. Working in public is valuable for accountability and audience building, and sharing with Tana Publish is an easy way to hold myself accountable to an audience.

2. Tana Publish is perfect for releasing long-form stories in episodes, chapter by chapter. I will eventually seek out traditional publishing, but writing a little at a time—and publishing right away—helps my creative process.
